Just Know This…

Your work is always on time,
Even if you are a few minutes late in the morning.

Your community relations are top notch,
Even if you have a bad day now and then.

Your willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty is apparent to everyone,
Even though on occasion you are not here.

Your undertakings are always excellent,
Even though you make a mistake now and then.

You give so much to us,
And yet we can’t recognize you because what you contribute is not recognizable.

Our measurements are flawed,
When we want to measure what you give us.

Can I say we need you?
     Yes.

Can I say we like your work?
     Yes.

Can I say how important you are to us?
     Yes.

Can I say we would loose something very special if you left?
     Yes.

I guess what I am trying to say is that even though we can’t recognize you,
You make a difference, and that is what I want you to know.

InnerVoice

I want to say, “HI”
    I look silly

I want to say, “I THINK YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL”
    I look dumb

I want to say, “LETS GO TO DINNER”
    I look lame

I want to say, “I THINK YOU’RE VERY NICE”
    I look foolish

I want to say, “I LIKE YOU”
    I look idiotic

I want to say
I want to say
I want to say

I want to say so much

The mirror
The mirror
The mirror

I look stupid

The Kiss

Your soft mouth engulfs me

A shudder runs through my spine at your touch

You massage my tender flesh

Your dark eyes meet my gaze
Your kiss deepens

A tingle causes me to gasp at your touch

You run a hand over my burning figure

Your ruby lips tease my skin
Your kiss intensifies

A jolt of energy passes between us at your touch

You pull away from my body

Your gentle smile rips away from me
Your kiss vanishes

A content sigh escapes my mouth as you remove your touch

Interpretation

There you sit smiling
   I want to smile too
   But I don’t know why you’re smiling – you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

There you sit talking
    I want to talk too
    But I don’t know how – you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

There you sit laughing
    I want to laugh too
    But I don’t know why you’re laughing – you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

There you sit confused at me
There I sit lost from understanding.

I’m sad

Now, there you sit teaching
    I try to learn
But it is very slow – you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

Now, there you sit telling
    I try to comprehend
But I understand very little – you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

Now, there you sit playing
    I try to play too
But I play very badly - you can’t hear and I can’t speak.

Now, we try to understand
Now, we try to talk

I’m happy

I am no longer lost from understanding.
You are no longer confused with me.

Alas, I still don’t always know how
Alas, it is still very slow – but we learn together.

Hold Me

Hold me

Please don’t let me go

Hold me

Please just love me

Hold me

Please stay with me forever

Hold me

Please don’t get up

Hold me

Please don’t get dressed

Hold me

Please don’t look at me as you leave

Hold me

Please don’t close the door

Hold me

Please come back

Hold me

Glass

Glass all around me
    I try to talk
But you can’t hear my words

Glass all around me
    I try to scream
But you can’t hear my cries

Glass all around me
    I try to break free
    But it’s stronger than I

Glass all around me
I try to make you understand
    But you can’t understand me

Glass all around me
    You try to help
    But you don’t know how

Glass all around me
    Forever
    Forever
    Forever…

Full Circle

Mine, mine, mine

But I want it, mommy no fair

I hate you, parents don’t understand

I’ll never do that to my children - never.  You can’t just treat me this way.  I’m not a child anymore.

Dinner, movie, drinks

I love you, of course I do.

I’m so happy, all that matters is the children are healthy

A house, can you believe it, it’s ours.  We did it we made it, it has finally happened

Tuition, bills, retirement

They’ve all grown up, we miss the kids

Bouncing on our knees, a grandchild, nothing is so sweet

We’re saying goodbye to the house.  We’re moving on; another adventure awaits.

Mine, mine, mine

I hate you, children don’t understand

I was never like that to my children - never.  You can’t just treat me this way.  I’m not a child anymore

Desire

I want you
I know you don’t want me

I need your touch
I know you don’t need mine

I long for you to kiss me
I know you don’t long for my kiss

I ache to feel your body
I know you don’t ache for mine

I desire you more each day
I know you desire me less each day

We are together but alone

I desire you.

The Protector

Its Green eyes burn into me
Its wings can carry the greatest weight of my heart

It speaks in a musical voice to my soul

What it guards is more valuable then all the gold in the world

Its seen the fire of heaven
Its seen the water of life
Its seen the winds of time

Its Green eyes burn into me
Its Wings can carry the greatest weight of nature

It speaks in a musical voice for all to hear

What it guards is more valuable then all the diamonds in the world

Its seen the fire of man
Its seen the water of war
Its seen the winds of change

Its Green eyes burn into me
Its wings can carry the weight of man

It speaks in a musical voice which is ignored

What it guards is more valuable then all the gold and diamonds in the world

Its seen the fire of passion
Its seen the water of knowledge
Its seen the winds of strength

Its Green eyes burn into me
Its wings can carry the greatest weigh of my heart

It speaks in a musical voice to all who hear it

What it guards is the...

The Sum of a Man

How do you sum up a man?

By his service to his family
By his service to his church
By his service to his community
By his service to his country

How do you sum up a man?

From being a drummer in a band
To being in the army
Serving in Africa
Serving in India
Serving at home
To being a volunteer firefighter
To being a husband
To being a father
To being a grandfather
To being a great-grandfather
To being a great-great-grandfather

How do you sum up a man?

Who did what he could
Who did what he thought he had to
Who did what might not of been easy
Who did his very best

How do you sum up a man?

Simple:

By who he loved and
By who loved him

He was husband
He was father
He was grandfather
He was great-grandfather
He was great-great-grandfather

And he was loved
And he will be misse

Together

Feeling his breath she lies there
Feeling his heartbeat she lies there
Felling his body she lies there

There is no love
There is no passion
There is no sorrow

Feeling her softness he lies there
Feeling her sigh he lies there
Feeling her body he lies there

There is no love
There is no passion
There is no sorrow

They are together in the bed they made
They are together in the lives they share
They are together in the world they created

They are together in the pain they share
They are together in the weaknesses they have
They are together in the lies they live

Feeling his breath; she dies
Feeling her softness; he dies
Feeling his heartbeat; she weeps
Feeling her sigh; he sheds tears
Feeling his body; she bleeds
Feeling her body; he hemorrhages

Remember

My Family:

Do you remember all our fights,
Our tears,
And our laughter.

Do you remember mom and dad telling us to be quiet,
To go to our rooms,
And to stop bothering them.

Do you remember our Christmases
Our vacations,
Our parties and our picnics.

My Love:

Do you remember when we met,
Our fist date,
And our first kiss.

Do you remember when I said, “I love you.”

Do you remember our wedding.

Do you remember watching the children grow,
Starting their families,
Having grandchildren.

Do you remember being called grandma and grandpa for the first time,
Being called great-grandma and great-grandpa for the first time.

My Family and My Love:

Now that I have gone on.  Keep remembering these things
Fro when you remember the tears of joy and sorrow.
The anger,
The fights,
The laughs,
The love,
And the pain.

You remember me: who I was and who I still am.

I will never leave your side as long as you remember.
