Happy Thursday Scribblers! I hope you’re having a great day. Today I wanted to share some photos and news from LA Con/WorldCon 2026. I had the opportunity to go this event in Anaheim, CA this year. This was a five day conference, so it was the longest con I’ve attended and I have to wonder if it might be too long. As usual I went with the group from Liminal Fiction (click here to learn more) and we were next to Water Dragon Publishing (click here to check them out) so there were tons of books for everyone to explore. This con is a big book event and is where the winners of the Hugo Award are announced (which I was thrilled to be part of a magazine that was nominated for the award).
As you can see we had lots of books. Over all the event was a lot of fun, but it was long and book sales were not what we hoped, however the people were fun and everyone was wonderful. There were even some great outfits to be seen. Check these out:
As with all cons we ran into a lot of familiar faces and got to chat with some wonderful folks. Several of us managed to go to some of the parties (there were parties every night) and many of us even hung out at dinner a few times. Since it was the end of August the weather was hot and muggy, which wasn’t fun, but we were in the AC most of the time, so that worked out. Here are more photos of all the wonderful folks I got to hang out with (not everyone):
In general the event was a ton of fun, but I think this is a one-and-done for me. Well that’s it for this week. Until next time have a great week.
